no próximo dia 1 de março de 2008, vai estar patente em lisboa (santiago alquimista), um quadro dos “aqui d’el-rock” da autoria da dupla de artistas plásticos "sardine & tobleroni", inserida na exposição “espelho meu – história do rock português em 38 pinturas”.

ao trabalhar neste novo tema, "camboja", e embora como se verá não é o espaço geografico correcto, não posso deixar de me perguntar que tipo de música tinham os ditadores assassinos do regime kmer vermelho nos ouvidos. e julgo que tb teremos um pouco disso neste tema.

working on thuis new theme, "cambodja", and although as we will see it is not thr adequate geographical space, i wonder what kind of musid was in the ears of the masters of the killing fields the dictators of the kmer regime. i believe we will definitly have some of that in this music.

dia a dia no dia 14 out

um novo tema em trabalho "camboja". o zé irá explicar o que é, ou neste caso, o que foi e o que representa para a banda, e para cada um - já que o fernando está de férias criativas (atenção friend, pois as nossas últimas férias duraram décadas). passei a ver tb com 4 cordas (a maioria das guitarras baixo tem 4 cordas), e percebemos que fazer uma música representa coisas diferentes. O que é uma parte da música? tal como o mundo e a vida, cada um vê a mesma realidade de modos diferentes, embora de facto pareça a mesma coisa. e quando o trabalho está concluído, deixa de ser nosso para passar a ser de quem o ouve. será por isso que demoramos tanto tempo a construir uma música?

there´s a new theme we are working, named "camboja". zé serra will, in due time, explain what it is, or was, what is the importance for the band and each of us - as fernando decided to go on holidays ( yeah our last vacations lasted decades, watch out friend). i started to also work with 4 strings( bass guitars have it, at least most of tem), and suddenly we realize that we have different perspectives when building it. what is this part or that part of a music in construction? each one of us sees them differently as we do with the world and life although at a first sight it is the same thing. and when we are done with the work it does not belongs to us anymore. it belongs to whoever listens to it. is this the reason we take so long to build a new theme?

the “auction” of the ep commemorative of the 30 years of aqui d’el-rock is closed. we address our thanks to the participant “bidders”.
we are now in conditions to clarify to all those who were surprised by this action, that we intended to make a distribution as wide as possible for all those that were really interested in possessing the autographed vinyl, and that goal was accomplished. all those who were contemplated will soon be personally informed via e-mail and they will only have to pay to the basic price of 5 € (and the additional shipping costs).

memórias de aristides duarte

na sequência do dedicado trabalho que há já alguns anos vem sendo feito por aristides duarte, autor do blogue “rock em Portugal”, e depois da biografia dos “aqui d’el-rock” que o próprio inclui no seu livro “memórias do rock português” – editado em 2006 – foi publicada, no passado dia 17/01/07 pelo jornal “nova guarda”, uma entrevista concedida por jc serra a este melómano e onde se aborda entre curiosidades nostálgicas, a importância do passado na musica que hoje os “ha alma” produzem.

in the sequence of the relevant work that is being done for some years by aristides duarte, author of blog “rock in portugal”, and after the biography of “aqui d’el-rock” that he includes in his book “memórias do rock português” (portuguese rock memories) - edited in 2006 - it was published, in 17/01/07 last, by the periodical “nova guarda”, an interview granted by jc serra to this music lover in wich he talks, among some nostalgic curiosities, about the importance of the past in the music produced nowadays by “ha alma”.

Outra das coisas que a Revolução dos Cravos proporcionou, pois claro, foi liberdade – valor sem o qual, garante JC Serra, membro fundador dos Aqui d'el-Rock, o Punk nunca teria acontecido em Portugal: “IMPOSSIVEL. É preciso que isto apareça em maiúsculas. Antes do 25 de Abril um grupo como os Aqui d’el-Rock não poderia existir. Só a conquista da liberdade em 1974, tornou possível o aparecimento de um grupo como o nosso. Antes, isso não poderia ter acontecido, até porque qualquer músico que se preze, não consegue conviver com a censura do seu trabalho”.
O primeiro single dos Aqui d’el-Rock, datado de 1978, tinha por título “Há que violentar o sistema” e foi uma das primeiras consequências da chegada dos revolucionários ventos punk a Portugal. Os Aqui d’el-Rock foram um óbvio resultado da cultura rock existente em Portugal desde meados da década de 60 . Serra e Fernando Gonçalves, outro dos membros fundadores, tocavam juntos em bandas da zona do Bairro do Relógio, em Lisboa, desde pelo menos 1972. “Qualquer um dos elementos que integraram os Aqui d’el-Rock tinha uma forte cultura rock, alimentada desde a adolescência. Alguns já tinham tido experiências noutras bandas, onde tocavam material dos Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath ou Deep Purple”, revela JC Serra, baterista original da banda. Apesar de existir uma cultura rock, não se podia propriamente falar numa “cena” organizada. (...)

Serra adianta que a definição de “boom do rock português”, só começou a ganhar forma na época em que surgiram os Aqui d’el-Rock: “Acho que nesse contexto e nessa altura, se podiam classificar como bandas do género (punk) – além dos Aqui d’el-Rock – Os Faíscas, UHF, Xutos e Pontapés, Minas e Armadilhas… foi aí que se começou a definir uma cena, a tal que ganhou a designação “boom do rock português”.

One other thing the “Revolução dos Cravos” brought, was, of course, freedom – a value without which, guarantees JC Serra, founder member of Aqui d'el-Rock, punk would never have happened in Portugal: "IMPOSSIBLE. It is necessary that this word appears in capital letters. Before the April 25th, a band such as Aqui d'el-Rock, could not exist. Only the conquest of freedom in 1974, made the birth of a band such as ours possible. Before, that could not have happened, especially because any musician with some self-respect, cannot abide with the censorship of his work”.
The first single of Aqui d'el-Rock, dated 1978, with the title "Há que violentar o sistema" was one of the first consequences of the arrival of the revolutionary punk winds to Portugal. Aqui d'el-Rock were an obvious result of the rock culture existing in Portugal since the middle of the 60ties. Serra and Fernando Gonçalves, another of the founder members, played together in bands in the neighbourhood of the “Bairro do Relógio”, in Lisbon, since at least 1972. "Any of the musicians that formed Aqui d'el-Rock had, since their teens, a strong rock culture. Some had already had experiences in other bands, where they played songs of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath or Deep Purple", JC Serra, original drummer of the band, reveals. In spite of the existence of a rock culture, we could not rightly speak of an organized “scene". (...)
(...) Serra says that the definition of "portuguese rock boom”, only began to win weight by the time the Aqui d'el-Rock appeared. "I think that, in that context and by that time, we could classify as punk bands - besides Aqui d'el-Rock - such as Os Faíscas, UHF, Xutos e Pontapés, Minas e Armadilhas… a “scene” began to gain form, which gained the designation "portuguese rock boom”. como forma de comemorar os 30 anos da fundação dos "aqui d’el-rock", o colectivo "ha alma" vai exibir brevemente na internet - site oficial, myspace/haalma, myspace/aquidelrock, soundclick/haalma (http://www.soundclick.com/haalma) e youtube/haalma (http://www.youtube.com/user/haalma), o vídeo do tema "há que violentar o sistema", realizado nos anos 70 pela rtp. no âmbito desta comemoração, estão também previstos outros acontecimentos, entre os quais, a apresentação do clip sobre a mesma música na versão dos "clockwork boys", a edição limitada dos temas editados em vinil por uma editora internacional e o lançamento de um concurso ainda à volta desse video-clip, do tema e do movimento punk.

with a view to commemorate the 30 years of the creation of "aqui d’el-rock", the band "ha alma" will shortly exhibit in the internet - official site, my aspace/haalma, myspace/aquidelrock , soundclick/haalma (http://www.soundclick.com/haalma) and youtube/haalma (http://www.youtube.com/user/haalma), the video of the theme "há que violentar o sistema", produced in the 70ties by the portuguese television network (rtp). in the scope of this commemoration, other events are also foreseen, amongst which, the presentation of a clip of the same song played by the "clockwork boys", the limited edition of the song published in vinyl by an international publisher and the release of a competition about that video-clip, the song and the punk movement.

exactly 25 years ago, the elements that formed aqui d’el rock, decided to undergo a mutation. after the metamorphosis, the band took the name mau-mau, and between december of 1981 and january of 1982, recorded the only single of its short career. currently, the 3 members of ha alma - who were part of this(these) band(s) - decided to remember and share the event. the themes “xangai” and “vietsoul” were remasterized from vinyl and are available, as from the 26th of this month and year, to whom ever maybe interested in hearing them, in a player of the myspace/haalma

the 1st phase of the rescue, in demo version has finally ended . this demo was conceived with the intention to serve as the project's presentation to the public and to the entertainment industry, with a view to obtain the necessary aid for the edition of these and the next chapters of the “book of the soul, part 1”. the related themes are, as from today, at the disposal for audition, in the site of the band and in myspace/haalma.

"alma", "cyborg" e "sombra", são os títulos dos temas recuperados do material que se conseguiu preservar dos que os "aqui d'el-rock" haviam composto na sua fase derradeira. titles of the first four

"alma", "cyborg" and "sombra", are the titles of the themes that were recovered from the material that we were able to preserve amongst those that "aqui d'el-rock" composed in their last phase.
